  1951 Drafted January 1951 into the Army, went to 3rd Armor Division at Fort Knox, Kentucky. Sent to Holloman, Germany as forward observers. Russians were patrolling across the fence. Was a tank commander and drove the M1 tank. Then in reserves for 8 more years for a total of 10 years.
