  6/5/1917 Charles W. Tholen registers for the draft. He is a student O.R.T.C. at Fort Snelling, MN, single, 25 and a Lieutenant, in military service for 4 years. Charles is a member of the Cadet Corps of Leavenworth.
  1920 In the book ,The Story of Orndance in the World War by James Sevellon and William Bryan James, Charles W. Tholen is listed on page 183 under the Roster of the Commissioned Personnel Ordnance Department—United States Army As Compiled by the Office of the Chief of Ordnance as of November11, 1918. Note: His regiment is not identified.
  5/2010 A brick in honor of Charles Webster Tholen has been placed at the National World War One Museum in Kansas City, MO in the Veteran's Section.
