My War Stories
1945 Drafted out of High School before he finished into the Marine Corps in 1945. Found out he could type 60 words per minute so he knew he would get stuck in an office after boot camp. Went to Norfolk, Virginia to replace a woman Marine. After four months was promoted to Corporal. Offered him Sergeant stripes to stay in but did not have his HS diploma and he knew he needed it.
1946 Exited service Labor Day 1946 and went back to school and played football at Central HS in Columbus at 19yr and called him pops.
1950 Spent 33 years at the Rockwell Corporation lead the estimation and proposal team.
